고구려와 발해의 기상 드높여 세계적으로 그 위대함 알릴 것!

고구려발해학회는 1994년 서길수 교수의 고구려연구소로 출발했다. 1996년 연구소는 사단법인 고구려연구회로 개인연구소가 아닌 공익적 학회로 정식 출범하게 되었으며 김진영 이사장, 서길수 이사장을 거쳐 한규철 회장 겸 이사장 체제로 이어져, 지금의 ‘고구려발해학회’로 이름을 바꾸고 현재 이강현 이사장과 한규철 회장 체제로 활동하고 있다. 이 학회는 중국의 동북공정에 대한 대응논리 연구와 국·내외 학술대회를 통해 세계적으로 고구려와 발해의 위대함을 알리고 있는 국내의 대표적인 학회이다.

본지는 올해부터 3년의 임기를 시작하게 된 이강현 이사장을 만나 우리 역사의 중요성

과 학회의 취지. 그리고 ㈜현인코스메틱 대표로서의 새로운 목표를 들어보았다.

한·중간 동북공정에 대한 반전논리를 연구하는 사람들

고구려발해학회는 고구려와 발해의 역사적 근원을 찾고 중국정부의 동북공정에 대한 반전논리를 연구하는 국내 유일한 학회다. 고구려와 발해를 집중적으로 알리고, 연구 성과를 축적해 고구려 유적과 유물 전시회, 국제 및 국내 학술대회 개최, 강연회 및 세미나, 문화유적 답사 등이 활발하게 이뤄지고 새로운 자료를 축적하는 일에 집중해 해외 유적조사에 심혈을 기울이고 있다. 올해로 19년을 맞이하고 있는 고구려발해학회는 그간 20여개의 국제대회 및 기타 학술대회에서 약 300여 편의 논문을 발표했다. 이처럼 학회는 학문적으로도 많은 발전을 이룩해 <고구려연구>에 이어 <고구려발해연구>도 이제 한국연구재단 등재지로서 44집 발간이라는 위업을 나타내고 있다. 이는 한국사학계 뿐 아니라, 세계학계에서도 주목받을 만한 성과로 평가받고 있다. 또한 각종 방송에서 고구려발해학회로 자료를 요청할 정도로 방대한 자료를 보유하고 있다.

올해부터 이사장으로 추대된 이강현 이사장은 1999년 우연한 계기로 서길수 교수를 만나면서 새로이 고구려 역사학에 빠져들었다. “전 다른 회원들과 다르게 학자가 아니었죠. 대부분의 회원들이 학자 출신이었거든요. 우연히 고구려연구회를 만나면서 동북아지역 역사 왜곡에 대한 것들을 막고 싶었고 그렇게 15년을 달려왔다”며 당시를 회상했다. 초창기부터 물심양면으로 도움을 아끼지 않아서일까 만장일치로 이사장으로 추대된 이강현 이사장은 “학회가 갖고 있는 방대한 자료들을 집대성하여 책으로 발간 후 영구적으로 보존 할 수 있게 만들고 싶다”고 말했다.

해외명품 코스메틱 브랜드의 횡보에 맞서,

병행수입으로 시장의 새로운 패러다임 제시

이강현 이사장은 국내 최고의 화장품 유통회사 ㈜현인코스메틱을 이끌고 있다. 국내 화장품 브랜드에서 20여 년 동안 근무한 노하우를 정립, 1999년 ㈜현인코스메틱을 설립했다. 이후 지난 10여 년간 전국 98개의 롯데마트 중 23개 점포에서 국내 유수의 25개 화장품회사 제품판매를 전담해오고 있다. 이는 매장별로 나눠져 있는 브랜드들에 맞서 한 장소에서 다양한 화장품들을 보고 구매할 수 있도록 만들어놓은 멀티 화장품 매장이다. 이 매장을 통해 고객들은 좀 더 쉽게 다양한 브랜드들의 제품을 만날 수 있어 새로운 쇼핑의 즐거움을 맞볼 수 있는 것이다.

이강현 이사장이 그간 국내 브랜드에 치중할 수밖에 없었던 이유는 처음부터 정부와 해외명품 화장품 브랜드들의 잘못된 정책 때문이었다. 이런 정책들 때문에 해외명품 화장품의 비정상적인 불공정 독과점 고가 전략이 생겼는지도 모른다. 하지만 근래 식약청에서 병행수입의 새로운 기준을 제시하였고, 규제를 완화하여 작년 11월부터 해외명품 화장품의 병행수입을 통해 국내 소비자의 합리적 쇼핑을 가능케 하는데 힘을 쏟고 있다. 이는 관리 벤더(Vendor)업체로서는 최초의 일이다. 또한 이강현 이사장은 “해외 유명 코스메틱 업체의 고가정책에 맞서, 해외 명품 브랜드 화장품을 병행수입 해 시장의 건전성을 확보하고, 15~20%의 저렴한 가격으로 판매함으로써 불황에 닫힌 소비자의 지갑을 열 수 있게 뛰고 있다”며 “더욱 정진해 해외명품업체의 횡포에 가까운 고가전략을 타파하고 독과점을 해소해 소비자 선택의 폭을 넓힐 수 있는 방안들을 마련할 예정”이라고 말하였다.

㈜현인코스메틱은 새로운 교육 또한 계획하고 있다. 해외브랜드 수입을 해 오지 못했던 업체들에게 OJT교육으로 병행수입을 확대 시켜 새로운 시장을 형성하겠다고 전했다. 이는 불공정 거래에 맞서 틈새시장을 확대해 시장의 새로운 패러다임을 제시한 것이다.

새로운 정부 출범으로 희망찬 대한민국 열릴 터!

이강현 이사장은 “새로운 정부의 출범으로 대한민국의 많은 부분들이 바뀔 것”이라고 설명했다. 일단 고구려발해학회는 그간 중국과 대한민국의 외교적 문제들로 인해 정부의 지원을 전혀 받지 못했다. 그래서 현재까지 학회 회원들과 이강현 이사장의 사비를 들여 국·내외 학술대회, 문화대학, 전시회, 초청강연회 등을 개최하고 논문집을 발표해왔다. 이는 학회가 더욱 발전하는데 있어 다소 힘든 부분들이 내포 되어 있다. 정부의 지원이 없기 때문에 ‘우리 역사의 정체성 찾기’에 있어서도 한계적인 부분들이 있기 때문이다. 이강현 이사장은 “정부적인 차원에서도 역사 왜곡은 아주 중요한 문제”라며 “새로운 정부의 지원이 이뤄져 한중간 동북공정에 대한 반전논리에 더욱 힘을 실어줬으면 좋겠다”고 강조했다. 또한 박근혜 대통령이 공약으로 내세웠던 ‘중소기업 살리기’에 기대를 걸어본다고 전했다. 국내 중소기업을 보호하고 육성하는 취지에서 해외기업 편향의 제반규제 완화와 중소기업 프렌들리 정책을 통한 저금리 자금지원 및 화장품 소매업의 중소기업서비스 적합업종 선정이 이뤄져 ㈜현인코스메틱 같은 중소기업이 더욱 성장할 수 있는 발판이 되어 중소기업이 강한 대한민국이 됐으면 좋겠다고 말했다. “우리나라도 <노블리스 오블리제>를 실천하는 것이 참 중요합니다. 외국처럼 말이죠. 기업이 성장하면 자연스럽게 사회의 봉사적인 부분을 어느 정도 책임져야합니다. 어렵지만 그 부분들이 정착돼 더불어 사는 사회가 됐으면 합니다. 그래서 ㈜현인코스메틱은 수익의 일부분을 봉사를 통해 기부하고 있죠. 시급히 ‘중소기업 살리기’가 정착돼 봉사와 기부문화에 대한 대한민국의 인식이 바뀌었으면 좋겠습니다. 이런 부분들이 박근혜 대통령에게 국민들이 원하는 한 부분이 아닐까 싶습니다.”

언제나 우리 내 역사를 지키려고 노력하고 있는 고구려발해학회. 이강현 이사장과 한규철 회장, 그리고 국내 최고 교수진들의 연구업적으로 인해 1,500년간 잠들어 있던 고구려의 혼이 되살아나는 날이 머지않았음을 기대해본다.

Association of Koguryo & Balhae started as the name of Koguryo Research Center under the professor Seo gil-soo in1994, which name has been changed into The Corporation of Koguryo Research association was formally founded as a public interest institution not individual study center in1996 by the executive director of Kim Jin young, and through Seo gil-soo, and through chairman & bord president Han cheolgyou. The institute has been changed again into now Association of Koguryo & Balhae, and managed by board president Lee Kang Hyun and chairman Han Gyoucheol. It is the country's most representative association that let the entire world know the lofty spirit and greatness of Koguryeo & Balhae through the study of logical investigation against China's Northeast Project, and through academic conferences at home and abroad. Our magazine met CEO Lee who started his three year terms from this year to hear his views on the importance of our history, the association's object, and a new aim as a representative of Hyun In Cosmetics.

The People Studying Against China's Northeast Project Between Korea and China. Association of Koguryo & Balhae is the only academy in which they are looking for the historical roots of Koguryo & Balhae and studying against China's Northeast Project of reversed history. The association let all the people around the world intensively know Koguryo & Balhae, hold exhibitions on relics and ancient ruins from Koguryo, hold symposiums at home and abroad, hold academic lectures & seminars, to explore historic sites (make a field investigation), which

is also active in those areas. And the association focuses on collecting research materials, devote themselves to exploring overseas ancient ruins. Reaching the age of 19 this year, the association has been presenting approximately 300 papers at 20 international events and conferences. It has achieved a remarkable development in learning with Researches on Koguryo including Koguryo & Balhae history. It is designated National Research Foundation of Korea. It also has accomplished a monumental work of 44 publications of report, which work is highly esteemed as notable achievements in the international academic circles. It contains so great deal of material that several broadcasters are asking for information. He became the board president of the association this year. He is now mad about historical studies of Koguryo, when he met professor by chance in1999.

"I was not scholar like other members of the association while most of them were scholars. Running into Koguryo research center, do I really want to prevent distortions of history of the region of Northeast Asia, with which I have been running do 15 years." he remembered from those days. He became the board president of the association unanimously. Is this because I had given my full material and emotional support from its early stage? He says that "he would like to compile a great deal of material which the association have into books, preserves them forever."

Propose a New Paradigm of the Market by Parallel Import

CEO Lee Kang Hyun heads Korea's best cosmetics distribution company, Hyun In Cosmetics. He set up know-how from his 20 years of domestic cosmetics brand, and founded Hyun In Cosmetics in 1999. In the last 10 years, he has taken full charge of selling cosmetics of leading Korea's cosmetics companies in 23 stores out of 98 Lotte Marts. This is the multi store where customers purchase the cosmetics, comparing various products. Customers can take the fun of shopping because of viewing many kinds of products easily through this store.

From the beginning, there were wrong policies of the our government and overseas leading cosmetics brand. This is why he had to focus on domestic brands. The abnormal unfair monopoly for high price strategy may have arisen from that policies. Howevr the Korea Food and Drug Administration has issued new standards recently with the relaxation of regulation, on which he is doing his best in order for domestic customers to shop reasonably from last November through parallel import of overseas luxury cosmetics. This is the first thing as the firm of Vendor Management. He is trying to capture market integrity by parallel import of overseas luxury cosmetics, and open customers' wallets closed because of economic slowdown by selling at 15~20% lower prices. He will develop detailed plans to provide clients with a wider range of choices by getting rid of high price strategy close to high-handedness of overseas big corporations and solving the monopoly with more effort. Hyun In Cosmetics will make a new education plan. through OJT, he will give the companies some training which couldn't import overseas products. With the enlargement of parallel import will he form new markets. He surely proposes new market paradigm by enlarging niche markets, opposing unfair trade

With the Launch of the New Government The Repubic of Korea full of hope will be open

The CEO Lee Kang Hyun noted that "a lot of things will be changed into another with the inauguration of the new government." The Association of Koguryo & Balhae has never been funded by the government owing to the diplomatic problems between Korea and China. So, at private expenses from members of the association and CEO Lee, they were active in as follows: holding scholarship meeting, culture collage, exhibition, invitational lecture, and the presentation of collected papers. In order for our association to improve will this be the difficult problem we should solve. There is no financial government support. That's because we have a limit in the field of recovering our historical identity

He emphasized the importance of the fact that "the distortion of history must be a very important subject even at the government level, The new government's support can authorize our reasoning to China's Northeast Project between Korea and China. And he says that he is looking forward to reviving small-and medium-sized businesses' as a presidential election pledge that President Park Geunhye set forth. It is very important for Korea to put noblesse oblige into practice as other countries do. The growing companies, in some degree, should be naturally responsible for social service. It is not easy, but it can take root in our country, which can be the society where we live with each other. So Hyun In Cosmetics corporation donates some part of their income through social services. He hopes that reviving small-medium sized businesses can urgently take root in Korea, which will change its perspective on social services and donation culture. Will it be important thing that people want from President Park Geunhye? It will not be long before the spirit of Gogureo, which has fallen asleep for 1500 years, revives soon with the Association of Koguryo & Balhae to try to always protect, and the research achievements by board president Lee Kang Hyun, Chairman Han Gyou-cheol, and Korea's best faculty.
